Private equity, credit and real assets

Private Markets

Measured exposure to private companies and real assets, for investors able to commit capital for the long term.

The service

How it works in practice

Private markets include investments in companies, loans, infrastructure and property that are not traded on public exchanges. For suitable investors, a carefully sized allocation may broaden diversification and provide exposure to parts of the economy that are less accessible through listed markets.

We research and select third-party funds and, where appropriate, co-investment opportunities, and we explain the commitments, fees and liquidity terms of each in plain language before any decision is taken.

Suitability

May be suitable for

  • Professional or otherwise eligible investors, as defined by applicable regulation
  • Clients with a long investment horizon and no need for short-term access to the capital committed
  • Family offices and institutions building diversified long-term portfolios

Suitability is always assessed individually before any service is provided.

Potential benefits

What clients may value

  • Broader opportunity set

Access to companies and assets not available on public markets.

  • Independent selection

Managers assessed through structured due diligence, without product-sale incentives.

  • Portfolio integration

Private commitments planned and monitored alongside the rest of your wealth.

Important risks and limitations

Please consider the following

  • Private-market investments are typically illiquid; capital may be committed for ten years or longer.
  • Valuations are infrequent, may be based on estimates and can differ materially from realisable value.
  • Fees are often higher and more complex than for listed investments.
  • Investors may lose some or all of the capital invested.
  • These investments are not suitable for all investors and may be restricted in some jurisdictions.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and investors may receive back less than they invested. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

The process

How the process works

  1. Step 1: Eligibility

We confirm investor status and whether private markets are suitable for you.

  2. Step 2: Allocation

We agree an appropriate overall allocation and pacing of commitments.

  3. Step 3: Due diligence

We assess managers on strategy, team, alignment, governance and terms.

  4. Step 4: Commitment

We explain documentation, capital calls and fees before you commit.

  5. Step 5: Monitoring

We track capital calls, distributions and valuations in your reporting.
